The visit closed with an evening gala reception hosted by Alexey Nemov, one of the world's greatest gymnasts, now Editor-In-Chief of Bolshoi Sports magazine, to raise funds for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation charity in Russia. Angelika Timanina, Daria Korobova, and Elvira Khasyanova, three of Russia's greatest synchronised swimmers also attended as Laureus announced its commitment to implement more charitable projects in Russia.

Tennis legend Boris Becker, in his welcome address, said: "I support the desire of my Russian colleagues to make sport as accessible as possible for all people. I am sure this event will truly kick-start the development of grass roots sports in Russia."

Other guests present included Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov, Olympic figure skating champion Evgeny Plyushenko, Olympic figure skating champion Tatiana Navka, and President of Russia's Gymnastics Federation Andrey Kostin.

The mission of Special Olympics Russia is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through this, physical fitness is promoted whilst the participants can share their talents with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community at large.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Stephen Jennings speaks to Front Row Group on Investment Opportunities in Africa

In November last year, Stephen Jennings sold out of his Russian-based Renaissance Capital, ending his association with the investment bank he founded in 1995. Now he is focussing his considerable business energies on the emerging markets in Africa, and gives the Front Row Group an exclusive interview.

Africa: A Modern, Middle Class Act

Stephen Jennings acknowledges that there are some ingrained negative perceptions of Africa, whether they be of war, famine or infant mortality, but these are not shared by the active investment community.

"Investors have a more nuanced perception. There's a very big difference between investors who are engaged and active in Africa and investors who are on the side lines and perhaps thinking about it. The people who are engaged know that conflict and war, though there are one or two pockets left, really aren't an issue in Africa. They also acknowledge rapidly rising incomes, falling infant mortality, rising primary and secondary school enrolment and the rapid build of infrastructure,

"People who are engaged and on the ground know there is profound and broadly-based change taking place and laugh at some of the perceptions which are deeply ingrained in many outsiders. I think there is still a racist element - though it is not politically correct to say so - which does colour peoples' thinking. Ninety-nine per cent of information most westerners have received about Africa over their lifetime has been unequivocally negative and there are certain players, like the aid industry, that have big vested interests in perpetuating that image. The information people have been receiving has been very unbalanced and very negative, particularly with regard to the changes of the last ten years."

Multinationals benefit from Front Row Leadership - Muffin Break & PruProtect

Front Row Hospitality

In late October, Front Row Leadership spoke at the annual Pink Conference, brought together by PruProtect. It was an all-day conference for the network's financial and mortgage advisers designed to inspire and motivate the audience to achieve great results for the network.

In September, Front Row Leadership and Sean Fitzpatrick spoke to a delegation from Muffin Break UK at a Leadership Event held in Cambridge. The object of the day was to draw parallels between the game of rugby and business, and to show that there are a number of strategies for success that can be learned from the sport.

Front Row Group was honored to be commissioned to facilitate introductions to senior British dignitaries, sport stars, artists, designers and officials for a 10-part documentary on behalf of the legendary Russian broadcaster Vladimir Pozner, on the Russian State One channel.

Mr Pozner was in Great Britain to film the Documentary to be shown in Russia next year to coincide and celebrate the Russo-British Year of Culture 2014. Nothing like this has ever been done for Russian television (nor, for that matter, for any other network). It is a very ambitious undertaking, the aim of which is to furnish the Russian TV audience with a better understanding of Great Britain and the British!

Rugby Stars hosted at Playboy Club VIP Event

Playboy Club London and Front Row Leadership brought together a world-class panel of rugby legends to give their verdicts on this year's Rugby Championship, and to preview the Autumn Internationals.

Sean was joined by ex-pitch opponents former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio, and Australian fly-half Michael Lynagh. Guest compere was Sky Sports presenter James Gemmel, who, after a riveting panel discussion, opened the floor to questions from the guests.

Looking ahead to the Autumn Internationals, the panel discussed whether there would be a repeat of England's record-breaking win last year against world champions New Zealand at Twickenham...!

Front Row Group was please to support the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual RussiaTALK Investment Forum, the RBCC flagship Moscow event on 24th October.

RBCC's RussiaTALK Investment Forum took place at the World Trade Centre in Moscow. It was held in conjunction with the Moscow International Finance & Investment Forum, which saw a great line-up of speakers and RBCC members gather to network and make plans for the year ahead. This year, for the first time, the event was followed by a tremendous mission to the Kaluga region, led by RBCC Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent. This saw a group of approximately 15 UK company representatives visit this promising region, meet international businesses already operating there, and make those all-important contacts with the local government and business community.

Beefy Walk for Laureus sets off in true Sri Lankan style

Young children lined the hot tarmac road waving in laughter. The sounds of traditional Sri Lankan Musicians, dressed in gold, silver and red filled the air. Soldiers marched, with only the occasional smile breaking from their faces to show their secret excitement.

Beefy's Big Sri Lanka Walk took its first steps in a truly unforgettable fashion. Hundreds of people, both walkers and spectators alike, filled the streets in the heart of Sri Lanka's Kilinochchi area to witness a cricket legend start his most ambitious charity walk to date.

Sir Ian Botham walked 160 miles in the unforgiving Sri Lankan heat, a challenge matched only by the intense humidity he faced as well.

But, luckily for Ian, he had some company along the way.
