Front Row Luxury launches men's grooming brand Portland England

Front Row Luxury is proud to announce its first foray into the exciting world of men’s grooming with the launch of Portland England, a British grooming brand, made in Britain and inspired by the beauty and power of the sea.

Co-founders Misa Zahar, CEO of Front Row Luxury and Bella Middleton, Managing Director of Men’s Society, created Portland to transform the shaving ritual into a relaxing tranquil experience for every skin type - even the most sensitive. Hydration is key to every formula, using only the finest natural ingredients without any parabens or sulphates. The Portland England range is engineered to hydrate the skin whilst helping to combat any irritation and damage caused by shaving.

Portland England will be available at Fenwick of Bond Street (from June 5th) with an exclusive Fenwick/Portland England Father’s day gift set, and at Fortnum and Mason and the Concept store at Selfridges. The full range will also be available to purchase online from 1st June.

Alexander James is an internationally recognised artist world renowned for his underwater sculptures created in vast tanks with purified water. His works are always presented “as-shot” without post-production either traditional or digital. In his artwork Alexander attempts to present the beguiling beauty of our everyday confinements, re-proposing the ordinary, displaced and overlooked. This year his Distil Ennui Studio partnered up with Chainy to offer its already successful residency program to various creative artists using Chainy’s online platform. The residency program will provide young creatives a unique opportunity to apply for up to 9 residency positions to begin working on a new collaborative project for the month of July 2015.

John Pallant, Regional Creative Director of EMEA of Saatchi & Saatchi and Professor Robert Kesseler, Chair of Art, Design & Science at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London were invited to curate the selection process and to hand-pick the most deserving applicants.

Over 4 weeks, participating creatives will be able to collaborate in Alexander’s studio in East London with the aim of producing a body of work for a major exhibition hosted in London October 2015. The exhibition will present works in a variety of mediums and will involve photographic works, film, music and words. Participating creatives would greatly benefit from learning how to refine a unique artistic process whilst experimenting in a studio where literally anything can happen; from design and fabrication to casting a bronze, butterfly breeding, to carving ice or even marble.

Home schooling: A broad educational option

Front Row Hospitality

In a world where life rarely stands still and families are busier than ever, the option to remove the rigid restraints imposed by schooling must surely hold an appeal.

Full or part time home schooling is an option that allows families to mould the education to suit the child, taking full advantage of local experiential learning opportunities, the nature of the child and the way of learning that suits them best. By choosing a private tutor for your child, you are allowing your child to follow their educational interests, becoming life- long learners rather than children who can jump through the necessary hoops to ‘succeed’ in conventional schooling.

Front Row Hospitality

Many international families spend time travelling around the world from one post to another; the world has become a significantly more transient place to be. For some such families, international schools are not viewed as a preferred option as the upheaval of starting a new school every couple of years can be immense and unsettling for young children. Many international schools operate at a significantly lower academic level when compared to UK public schools. The reasons for this are numerous but it is frequently the result of English as a Foreign Language (EAL) pressures and the very transient nature of the school community itself. For some families, a new work location may be too remote and travelling to an international school is not a logistical option at all. Private tutors provide the continuity in education that enhances a child’s learning, offering an educator who can ensure significant academic progression throughout this period.

Flexible home schooling is an ideal option for children who are working on film sets or away for busy sporting schedules, unable to adhere to a rigid daily timetable. A private tutor will mould the lessons around the student’s other commitments, ensuring that children do not miss out on valuable education whilst also reaping the rewards and enrichment that results from following their passion. When children are missing periods of time from school the option to mix home schooling with attendance at a mainstream school, can provide the ‘very best of both worlds’. This flexibility enables families to provide the lifestyle that they wish for their children without limitations.

Front Row Education work closely with families to enable such flexibility, allowing families to take private tutors with them during periods of travel. Whether you wish to embark on an extended holiday or temporarily relocate for business, Front Row Education will ensure that the right tutor is found for your family.

Front Row Luxury invited to launch of new IWC watch designed to raise money for Laureus

Front Row Hospitality

In May, Front Row Luxury was invited to the IWC Boutique in London where IWC Schaffhausen presented a limited special edition watch, the Ingenieur Automatic Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation”, with the characteristic Laureus blue on the dial. As part of IWC Schaffhausen’s long-term commitment to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, the sports timepiece maintains one of the Swiss watchmaker’s grand traditions: part of the proceeds from sales will go to help children in crisis-hit areas of the world.

The watch, which will raise funds for Laureus, was unveiled at an exclusive event by Laureus World Sports Academy Members Sir Steve Redgrave and Sean Fitzpatrick. The engraving on the back of the watch reproduces the drawing by a girl from Uganda, who won the IWC children’s drawing competition. Cooperation with Laureus is one of many social and ecological commitments that IWC Schaffhausen actively promotes, and one that is based on a partnership of shared values.

International award-winning Hawke's Bay winery Craggy Range will release its highly-anticipated 2013 Prestige Collection on 1 June 2015, labelling the three wines their finest from 'the vintage of a generation'

The Prestige Collection is the pinnacle of the Craggy Range wine collection and the 2013 vintage comprises three very special wines in ‘Sophia’, ‘Aroha’ and ‘Le Sol’. These wines are produced from a hand selection of the best parcels in the vineyard, expressing the unique and exceptional terroir in which they were grown. The wines in this collection are only produced in vintages where the wines are deemed a quality worthy of carrying the Craggy Range Prestige label. Craggy Range chief winemaker Matt Stafford says a ‘vintage of a generation’ is one that may be experienced only once every 25 years. “The exceptional growing season in 2013 came for us at an ideal time as the vines had matured well from their strong foundations. It was significant for our Prestige Collection in that we felt it was the first time we had really seen the true potential of our great estates in Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough.” Stafford says the winemaking team felt so confident in crafting the 2013 Prestige Collection wines they simply allowed the wines to achieve their own natural harmony with minimal intervention, setting a new benchmark for the winery. “For me personally, this collection of wines represents all that we have learned and recognised across the previous 12 growing seasons. It really is the truest reflection to date of our idealistic approach to grape-growing and winemaking,” he says. “To describe it in three words; the 2013 Prestige Collection is defining, resolute and extraordinary.”

Craggy Range’s 2013 Prestige Collection is released on 1 June 2015 and the wines are available via the following fine wine merchants:
